How to calculate CGPA across semesters

  1. Add each course from the semesters you want to include. Provide the correct credit hours and marks.
  2. Group each course under its semester and use the same code when comparing repeated attempts.
  3. Check each semester GPA, cumulative credit hours, total quality points, and estimated CGPA.
  4. Add or delete subjects to test a scenario, or print the visible calculation for your own records.

Why not average semester GPAs?

One semester may contain 15 credit hours and another may contain 18. Averaging their GPAs directly would give both semesters equal weight even though the course loads differ. The CGPA formula adds the applicable quality points and credit hours first, then divides the totals.

Grade conversion and repeat rules

The marks mode in this first version uses a clearly labelled reference-compatible conversion based on course percentage. Grade-point bands and policies for repeated or excluded courses should be checked against the rules that apply to your own programme. The calculator is independent of UAF and does not replace the official transcript.

Use the semester GPA calculator for one semester, or the attendance planner to estimate attendance percentages and recovery targets.
