Data and privacy

Privacy notice

What this early build is designed to collect, why it is needed, and how student academic data should be handled.

Project status: This notice describes intended behaviour for an early build. Before public launch, the operator should add current contact details, legal terms, retention periods, and applicable local-law disclosures.

Calculator inputs

The GPA, CGPA, and attendance calculators run in the visitor's browser. Values typed into the calculator are not sent to an account database by calculator scripts in this version. Printing a calculation is handled by the browser's print dialog.

Student Hub accounts

If accounts are enabled, the service stores an email address, name, salted password hash, session hash, and optional academic preferences needed to sign in and save a workspace. Passwords are never stored as plain text.

AG / registration numbers

An AG number is used as an identifier for a requested academic lookup. Saving it to a profile does not verify that the account owner is the student associated with that number. Access to non-public records requires an authorized verification method.

Timetable uploads

Files are previewed locally first. If a signed-in user submits a file for shared review, the file and its declared timetable metadata are stored privately for review. It must not be public until approved. Uploads should not contain student personal records or LMS credentials.

University systems

This service does not ask students to submit their UAF LMS password. Any future attendance integration must use an authorized flow. If an integration is not available, students should use manual attendance entry or a supported report import.

Account and data removal

Account deletion, export, retention cleanup, and a verified operator contact should be completed before the product is promoted for general use. Contact information will be added here before public launch.

Contact

This early project does not yet publish an operational privacy contact. Do not upload confidential academic documents until the production privacy and retention process is complete.
